A QUICK UPDATE ON AVERY...
First things first.... Like I once said, sedatives do not work on children, and there is nothing worse than having to hold down your child to let some stranger hurt them.
This past Monday Avery had her Kidney test at the hospital to check for reflux. I had expected her to fuss a little because I was told it wasn't too bad of a procedure, she just might be a little uncomfortable while the catheter is being placed but not too worry too much because she will be sedated.
LIES!
It was a complete nightmare for both of us! It got so bad at one point that I told the nurse that if they didn't hurry up and get the x-rays they needed of her bladder & kidney's that I was going to put an end to it. Thankfully enough it ended soon after.
When did the sedative kick in? When I put her in the car. She turned into a zombie for about 10minutes, then passed out.
The good news is I got a call from the Pediatrician this morning with the results...NO REFLUX YAY!!
But as of this afternoon both girl's have developed a head cold. If it's not one thing it's another!

MC PERA PICNIC & A PREEMIE AFTER PARTY
It's hard to believe another year has gone by. Today we headed out to
Mc Master Hospital for the annual Mc Pera Picnic for all the preemie graduates.
There wasn't as many families as there was last year, but there was still a good turn out. Of course there was lots of entertainment for the kids.
In the picture below, Olivia is being serenaded to a great children's song. She wasn't too sure what to make of this guy. Even though she completely ignored him for the entire song, he sang right to the end.
We tried so hard to get a good picture of the girl's with Dr. Shah, one of the doctor's they had while they were at Mac, but Avery wasn't having any part of it. He was, and is still one of our favorites. It's been two years since the girl's were born, and he still remembered their names. He is one amazing guy, and we were so thankful to have had him look after the girl's.Baka & Avery at the craft table putting together a masterpiece with stickers!Olivia preferred to use the markers for her piece of art work.
Thank goodness for washable markers!!
Our preemie buddy Ashton Always so happy!Running through the hospital hallway.
Off to the preemie after party!!!After the picnic we were off to Steve & Vickie's for the preemie after party.
Ashton has become a very popular little man lately with the ladies. Sophia & Avery are extremely fond of him but, I think it is Alina who has won his heart. Look at these two holding hands.
Sorry ladies!Sophia...just so sweet.Olivia & SophiaAlina getting a tickle from dadVickie & Alina sharing a giggle togetherSophia, Avery, and Olivia just before we headed home.
We had a great day today. A BIG thanks to Steve & Vickie for hosting the after party. We had a great time.
The only disappointment from today was that I didn't get a chance to get pictures of everyone. Especially our preemie friends Mimi & Coco. Too much socializing I think.

TWINS 2nd BIRTHDAY PARTY
Well this post is a little late getting out. But I was just way too tired after the girl's party to do much of anything.
Their 2nd birthday party turned out great, we had lots of guests come out for the girl's big day. To all of you who couldn't make it because of illness we missed you all being here, and hope your feeling better soon.
Thank you to all who did make it. It really meant a lot to have you all here.

The only one at the hospital that I ever trusted with the girl's. As well as the only one who could ever keep me sane through the whole experience. Our preemie friend Ashton. As sweet as ever!Preemie friends - Elizabeth, Avery, Ashton, & OliviaSince the party, Avery has become very protective of the chair that Ashton is sitting in. Anytime Olivia try's to sit in it now, she stops her and says " Don't touch, Ashton's chair"This next picture is my favorite out of all of them. On Friday morning I received an e-mail from Vickie, Alina & Sophia's mom. Since they couldn't make it to the party the girl's put together a wonderful birthday wish for the twins.
Thank you so much Vickie, Alina & Sophia for such a great birthday present for the girl's, it brought me to tears!
Morning after the party playing peek-a-boo with the box from their new slide.
On Sunday ( Father's Day) we headed over to Baka & Deda's house. We brought along the girl's water table that they got from Auntie Krista for their birthday. The girl's cousin Nicholas, joined in for some fun in the water too. They all had a blast! Baka & Deda also surprised the girl's with a new pool! Which will be put up very soon with all this hot weather.
Thanks again to everyone for coming out on Saturday and for all the wonderful gifts.

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY OLIVIA AND AVERY
It's finally official, our two little monkey's are 2 year's old today.
It is hard to believe that two year's ago today at 7:06 & 7:07 a.m our two precious girl's would be born 3 months before their actual due date.
Their prematurity has changed us in so many ways. We laugh more, love more, and never take anything for granted. Especially our girl's.
We have put together a montage of how the girl's lives began, up to where they are now. I hope everyone enjoys it, and not too many tears are shed.
