HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY NICHOLAS!!!!!!!
On Sunday August 6th, our nephew/godson celebrated his first birthday. Nicholas was born 6 weeks premature at MacMaster Children's Hospital. He stayed in hospital for 2 weeks after he was born and was actually just down the hall from the girl's. Today Nicholas is a very healthy and happy little boy who like the girl's, just wanted to meet his mom & dad a little earlier than they expected. Olivia & Avery enjoyed spending the day outside in the backyard, getting a turn at the pinata, and trying some fresh apricots which they both now love.

Today was a very exciting day in the Barcic house. This morning while I was changing Olivia, Avery surprised me by sitting up in her crib all by herself!! I was so happy our camera was just in the next room to capture the moment. Grandma Schiller came over for a visit today and saw her sit up again by herself after her morning nap.

Lastnight we went to visit Uncle Mike & Auntie Jennifer, Jack & Noah at their new house. The girl's enjoyed playing with Jack & Noah's toy's. Olivia really liked playing with Dora & riding around on the truck. I think we might have to purchase one of those. Beautiful house guys!!!

Tonight we decided to take the girl's over to the park. They enjoyed being outside, as well as the swings. Their favorite thing at the park was the big car. They didn't want to share the steering wheel at all. Both of them were pushing eachother out of the way so they could get a turn.

Now that both of the girl's are sitting up on their own, they can finally play with the big house that Uncle Frank got them for their birthday. They love pressing all the buttons and listening to the music and different sounds it makes.Thank's uncle Frank!!. Both girl's love music and have started to dance when they hear it. Sometimes I think they try to sing as well. Maybe we have two more musicians in the Barcic family.
Tonight was bath night, which is really just more playtime. The twins love to splash the water and play with their toys. Mommy & Daddy are usually soaked by the end.

Avery eating pizza for the first time. She loved it!!!
Tonight while we were having pizza, I thought I'd give Avery a little taste. She wouldn't let go of it. Even when I tried to take the small piece she had left, she yelled at me and pushed my hand away. She is too funny. Olivia would have had a taste as well but she was napping. She'll have to try some next time.

I thought these pictures were just adorable!! Olivia & Avery have become very fond of eachother lately. When we are out for a walk in their side by side stroller they now look at eachother and laugh, they also hold hands on occasion and play footsies with eachother. Their favorite thing to do is hold on to eachother and laugh or scream when they are on the floor. They are also talking to us every chance they get. So far their vocabulary consists of Ba, ba, mama and the occasional dada. They have the greatest personalities, very happy girl's. The girl's are almost crawling, I think a couple of more weeks and our lives will change again. Avery can now sit up on her own, Olivia still needs a bit of help but she's almost there. I can finally update everyone on the twin's weight Avery weighed in at 17lbs & Olivia 15lbs. They both have their two bottom teeth, so I'm sure the top one's are soon to arrive. All the more to bite us with!!

McPera Picnic
On Saturday June 24th we attended McMaster Children's Hospital annual picnic. The hospital holds this picnic every year in honor of all the preemie graduates. It was so great to see all the parent's we had become friends with during the girl's stay there. It was also great to see how amazing all the preemies are. We also met up with some of the nurses who looked after Olivia & avery as well as the girl's doctor's. All were amazed at how well the twins were doing. They just could not believe how big they were.
The girl's also had a great time seeing so many different faces and getting a hug from "Sleepy" the big bear.
We had so much fun, that we can't wait for next year's picnic!!!
The babies below were 24 weekers, now look at them. They are all truly miracles.

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
One year ago today our two precious angels came into our lives. Today on their first birthday the girl's spent the day strolling along the street's of downtown Oakville. Baka, Auntie Nancy & Nicholas joined us for the day. We enjoyed some shopping, along with a nice quiet lunch. Avery slept through lunch at the Rude Native while Olivia enjoyed some club soda with her Baka. Although the girl's didn't know it was their birthday, today is a day that we will alway's remember as being our scariest and the best day of our lives. We are only thankful that they have no memory of how it all began one year ago today.

One year ago today was when the twins gave us our first scare. At this time last year at only 24 weeks into the pregnancy I went into labour. By the following morning the contractions had stopped on there own. The twins would have probably survived at that gestation but we would probably have been faced with a lot of complictions. They held on for three more weeks and then decided that was it!

AVERY
OLIVIA
BESTFRIENDS
Olivia & Avery are 8 months now (11 months corrected age) we had the girls baptized last month on April 23rd. We had lots of friends & family come out for the big event, even the girls great Aunt and two great Uncles made it from Pittsburgh. Avery's godparents are Auntie Nancy & Uncle Roberto and Olivia's godparents are Auntie Jennifer & Uncle Mike. Both are doing great, they have become very curious of everything. Everything they see they want. They are both standing but not crawling yet, we figure they are still a ways off from that. Next month is their one year check up at the doctors so we'll be able to update everyone then on how much they weigh.

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Saturday, February 25, 2006

Olivia and Avery are now 5months (8 months corrected age) and are doing terriffic! They have both discovered that they can roll over and are becoming more and more fond of eachother everyday. They both love to play in their exercauser's and think that pulling daddy's hair is very funny. They have started to eat cereal twice a day and are doing great. They open big and wide when they see the spoon coming. Next month we'll start them on baby food. Let the mess begin!! Next month we are also back at McMaster for growth and development checks on both girls. The last check-up they had they were both above average in their development. So despite their early arrival the twins are actually ahead of the game. That makes mommy and daddy very happy. The girls next doctor visit is at the end of this month so we'll keep everyone updated on how much weight they've gained.

Two Cutie's
Olivia & Avery are now 8 months old (5 months corrected age) They are now rolling on their sides, giggling, and screaming when they get excited. It's amazing how quickly they change. Before we know it they are going to be a year old! The picture posted here is going to be in the Oakville Beaver's 2005 arrivals along with their cousin Noah. Hope everyone gets a chance to see it.
